Zimbabwe women's tour of Ireland called off
"We got correspondence late this evening from Zimbabwe Cricket in which we were educated that because of a subsidizing issue, Zimbabwe Cricket won't send their ladies' group to Ireland," Warren Deutrom, Cricket Ireland (CI) CEO, said in an announcement.
The Zimbabwe ladies' group was planned to land in Ireland on Sunday (June 30) however didn't turn up. Be that as it may, the men's group has touched base in Ireland and their arrangement will go according to plan.
With the ladies' arrangement expected to fill in as a significant readiness for both the sides in front of the up and coming World T20 qualifiers, Ireland are currently left scrambling to compose matches with an alternate resistance in such a short notice.
"With the group due to land on Sunday, there is obviously no opportunity to locate an option and, after critical interview with the ICC to look for explanation, we lament to affirm the ladies' visit has been dropped," Deutrom said on Sunday. "We will investigate elective courses of action so our senior ladies' group won't be totally hindered by these disillusioning conditions."
